Combat Pistol Match

Friendly, Family-oriented, Practical, and Safe.  This match has been run continuously since September, 1973.  It focuses on basic accuracy skills, and is open to any type of handgun or shotgun.   The match is held on the second Saturday each month at 9AM. Features:

• Five stages
• Six shots per stage, making it revolver-neutral
• Metal targets, giving an immediate feedback of hits
• Cover, running, and real-world problem-solving are used.
• Some targets are designated as "hostages", aka "no-shoots".  If you hit one, you wear a bell around your neck.
• Two optional tactical shotgun stages
• Two optional tactical rifle stages
• After the main match, there are two and four-man relays
• The final event is the Walk-and-draw, a one-on-one quick draw competion.  Eliminations continue until one shooter is named "Top Gun".
• Compete against the clock, not others.  Everyone can win a pin.
• No attitudes, just friends honing their skills and talking guns.

• Each stage is timed, from the moment the contestant starts moving
• The time is stopped when the sixth shot is fired
• Five seconds is added for each miss (i.e. "Comstock" scoring)
• Ten seconds are added for each hostage hit.

• One Dollar for Rainbow Range members
• Six dollars for non-members
• Four dollars for match committee members (show at 8AM to help)
• Reshoots are one dollar each.  Re-run the match with a different pistol.
• One dollar each for shotgun and rifle.

Dena fires from behind a barricade.	Lori aces stage 3.  Women are encouraged to shoot in the match.	Ronnie sweeps stage 1.  Well-trained youths are welcome at the match.  Ronnie has won the gold pin twice.
The "Walk and Draw" is the final event. A quickdraw competition man-on-man until only one wins the gold pin.	A view of several stages, with people waiting in line.	In the "Two Man" competition, shooters form teams and fire in relays.

	Red Pin For scores less than 60 seconds, total of all 5 stages
